ZIG-Talks

Series of lectures on current issues in global health

The 'Centre for International Health Protection' at the Robert Koch Institute, abbreviated as 'ZIG' in German, has hosted public lectures on present issues in global health ('ZIG-Talks') since 2019. International experts from various academic backgrounds address important global health topics, not least to inform and shape RKI’s future international activities. In line with the academic year in Germany, ZIG-Talks from autumn 2022 until summer 2023 focused on the role of National Public Health Institutes (NPHIs) in international health protection. The current series from autumn 2023 to summer 2024 looks at different aspects of ‘Implementation research in global public health’.

All lectures and subsequent Q&A sessions are held in English. The events usually take place as hybrid events with in-person audience at the RKI in Berlin and virtual participation simultaneously. Public attendees need to register for on-site participation according to specifications in the respective event announcement. Online participation is possible without registration.
