How is Germany doing in Europe? Results from the European Health Interview Survey (EHIS) 2

Issue 4/2019 of the Journal of Health Monitoring focuses on the question of how Germany is doing in Europe. To answer the question, data from the second wave of the European Health Interview Survey (EHIS) are used.

The first Focus article in the issue examines the association between the combination of social roles – partnership, parenthood and employment – and self-rated health.

The second Focus article analyses educational differences in the prevalence of behavioural risk factors in Germany and the EU.

In addition, two Fact sheets present analyses of limitations in activities of daily living in old age as well as the prevalence of depressive symptoms in a European comparison.

The final article, European Health Interview Survey (EHIS) 2 – Background and study methodology, describes the methodology implemented in EHIS.
