DEGS -allergy and sensitisation monitoring

Allergy and sensitisation monitoring in the scope of the RKI’s national health surveys for estimating the allergy risk to the adult population

Periodically repeated representative examination surveys within the framework of the national health monitoring programme permit analysis of time trends in the prevalence of allergic illnesses and sensitisations in adults in Germany.

In addition to standardised interview data, comprehensive laboratory analysis data on sensitisation to 50 different allergens was gathered during the first wave of the German Health Interview and Examination Survey for Adults (DEGS1, 2008-2011).
