The HIV-1 seroconverter study investigates important unanswered questions regarding the long-term course of HIV infection, effects of long-term treatment with antiretroviral therapy, development and spread of resistance to HIV therapy, influence of other viral factors on the course of the disease, occurrence and course of comorbidities and co-infections, development of quality of life in people living with HIV, and the evaluation of new therapeutic strategies for future viral eradication and cure.
