Tasks

ZIG Office runs the programme office of the Global Health Protection Programme (GHPP) of the Federal Ministry of Health, and within RKI it coordinates the German Biosecurity Programme of the Federal Foreign Office. Furthermore, ZIG Office supports and coordinates the strategic development of ZIG and of RKI’s international activities. It is also responsible for matters of communication and outreach at ZIG, including organizing the ZIG-Talks, a series of public lectures on current issues in global health protection. Moreover, ZIG Office supports collaboration with external advisers, first and foremost the Scientific Advisory Board of ZIG, and with strategic cooperation partners such as Africa CDC.
