The project proposal "Profiling Cancer Genomes using AI and Natural Language Processing – Methodologies for Hotspot Identification" by PD Dr. Georges Hattab and Dr. Bahar İlgen from the Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Public Health Research at the Robert Koch Institute was able to prevail in the final vote for new thematic networks of the EU Health Policy Platform (EU HPP). A total of 19 project proposals were submitted in 2024, of which 6 were selected for the final vote.

The EU Thematic Networks are an integral part of the Horizon Europe Framework Program, which supports research and innovation projects in the EU. Thematic Networks promote the exchange of best practices and ideas between EU Member States and focus on strategically important topics such as health, digitalisation and sustainability. They also enable experts from different Member States to discuss common challenges and develop solutions.

Congratulations to Georges Hattab and Bahar Ilgen on this achievement, and thanks to everyone who supported the project with their votes.
