Africa CDC is a continental autonomous health agency of the African Union established to support public health initiatives of Member States and strengthen the capacity of their public health institutions to detect, prevent, control and respond quickly and effectively to disease threats. Africa CDC and RKI took up their partnership in 2020.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) was established in 2005. It is an EU agency aimed at strengthening Europe's defences against infectious diseases. The Centre processes surveillance data on some 60 communicable diseases from all 27 European Union Member States and two of the three remaining European Economic Area countries (Iceland and Norway). It is seated in Stockholm, Sweden.
